What exactly is transpiring between man and machine? Referring back to my previous article, man and machine have the capabilities to work in tandem together; however, it is most essential to identify the root cause of a problem before proposing a solution. One specific claim states that machines steal the jobs of the humans and can perform it at more optimal intervals than the latter. Although it can seem as a hindrance or possible threat, it may rather be viewed as a gateway for us as a society to emphasize on our own emotional intellect and reach new innovative heights.
Larry Boyer’s article Man vs Machine: The Latest Chapter is Just Starting brings up a certain point. “Computers controlled robots on the assembly line doing everything from precision welding to assembling products.” Leading up to this, Boyer reaches a conclusion. “These victories, however, come largely from brute force computations on computers taking up more space than a human brain.”
In the article Future of Jobs: The Battle Between Man and Machine, Emel Akan reaches an idea. “It turns out that in wealth management, the simpler the task, the more liable it is to be taken over by machines.” Akan brings up a perceptive insight. “And in some cases, they can make better decisions than humans by parsing huge reams of unstructured data and drawing conclusions that humans are typically unable to.”
While machines possess more memory than average humans can ever hope to achieve, they unlock innovative opportunities to enhance our abilities in fresh platforms. It is commonly known that they are less likely to attain faults. It is important to consider that machines are incapable of forming authentic relationships with other businesses. This battle between man and machine has been present for a long time, but it is an opportunity for growth and evolution.
