Technology dominates our world today. Every aspect, the good, the bad, has been impacted by technology in some way or the other. As the power of technology grows, those who love technology and gave immense knowledge about it grow more powerful too. For years, these people have been known has tech geeks.
Thus technology has been associated with geekiness for a long while. Considering a geek is (unfairly)described as someone who is "socially and fashionably inept", technology has never been associated with great fashion sense. However, technology and fashion, like it or not, have united to form a unit stronger than ever before. Here are some examples where technology has contributed to the world of fashion:
1. Artificial intelligence:
AI is essential in the world of technology, from analysing buyer data to boosting the shopping experience. Collecting feedback forms to analyse customer response, digital advertisements and more have revolutionised the world of fashion. Digital customer service tools have changed the producer-consumer relationship to a great extent.
Collecting and analyzing data is made much easier by AI bots. Brands can instantly get access to what customers like and dislike. Trending patterns, cuts, necklines, hemlines, you name it and the AI database has information about it!
2. Different brands have taken different approaches, for example:
FINERY~ "The British fashion label has come up with an automated wardrobe planning tool that, using analytics, records its female customer's purchases and introduces them in a virtual wardrobe. The platform also allows women to create looks from their wardrobe and even choose from over 10,000 shops."
STYLUMIA~ "With the help of AI and Computer Vision, STYLUMIA draws information from images, user behavior data, textual descriptions from social media and other sources to aid fashion professionals around the world in making informed decisions about the direction of their brand."
No matter what the approach, the positive change is evident!
3. Virtual and augmented reality:
VR and AR are hyped, but for very good reason! Popular in every field, they have numerous entertainment and business benefits. In our discourse on fashion and technology it would be a sin to leave out these two forms of technology that have taken the world by storm!
The physical and virtual worlds can now join hands at the emporium of fashion. Due to VR and AR customers can try on outfits virtually, personalise the brand, style and cut. Preferences can be applied easily, size and colour can be adjusted, and voila! One has his/her dream outfit!
4. Companies have used these tools innovatively, for example:

AI, VR and AR used to be associated only with technological advancement, but today they are connected with so much more! Technology has taken the world of fashion by storm and done so with impeccable style.
