Ever since technology was first invented in 1849, it has changed the world immensely. One of the main things that technology has offered us is being able to communicate. Whether that would be via a phone call or text, technology has advanced throughout the years.
Before smartphones were made, a lot of our communication revolves around having to use our home telephone line, which is something most people don’t use in our current day, as we all now use mobile smartphones. Since technology has advanced over the years, it has significantly changed the way we communicate with each other, and has also made peoples' lives easier in terms of connecting with one another.
Mobile phones were first invented back in 1973 by the Motorola company. Because of this invention, communicating through technology has developed ever since.
Now that smartphones are available to everyone, people don’t need to communicate via a phone call. Many people today text each other from anywhere and anytime by just simply using a mobile smartphone. The QWERTY keyboards were first made and released by Nokia back in 1996, which led to being able to text. By 2010, the majority of Android phones that were released were primarily touchscreen phones, which is a huge development from phones in the previous years.
The internet has also had a significant impact on the way we communicate today, which also makes it easier for people to stay in contact with others, easy and fast. For example, having the internet allows us to communicate through things like email and social media platforms. Even if one doesn’t have access to the internet, there is always mobile data that makes it convenient for people who want to communicate digitally without talking on the phone.
Besides communicating via texting, there are platforms where you can talk face-to-face like using FaceTime, Zoom, and Google Hangout, which can be alternatives of picking up a phone call.
Looking back at over the years when phones were invented, it is evident that technology has improved so much and has given people many different ways to communicate with one another than just only having phone calls available and limited resources like home telephone lines and home phones.
